Description

Cobra Brushless Multirotor Motors offer performance and value for Your RC Models. They are built from high quality components, and are designed to give years of top-level performance. All Cobra Motors are shipped in a custom designed package that features protective foam on all sides, with separate compartments to protect the motor and accessory pack.

The CM-2206-20 Racing Edition Motor was designed from the ground up to be the ultimate power source for 250mm FPV Racing Quads running on 4-cell Li-Po power! With 6x4.5 props attached, a set of four of these motors will produce 10 pounds of static thrust for blistering acceleration and incredible top end speeds.

The Cobra CM-2206 series motors have a 3.0mm motor shaft for extra strength, as well as oversize ball bearings to support the shaft and provide a long life. The stators are made with 0.20mm laminations for maximum efficiency and minimum Eddy Current losses. Since these motors are typically soldered directly to the speed controller to save weight, the 2206 motors come without bullet connectors and feature extended pre-tinned motor leads that are 10 inches (254mm) long. These motors also have 3mm threaded holes in a 16x19mm pattern on the back plate for easy installation on your model.

The CM-2206 series motors feature an integrated 5mm threaded motor shaft which eliminates the chance of having a prop adapter spin off in flight. The included prop washer and nylon insert prop nut provides a solid attachment for your propellers that will not loosen up and slip during use.

Included with every Cobra CM-2206 Series Motor is a complete accessory package which contains the following items:

● Four M3x5mm Motor Mount Screws
● Four M3 Flat Washers
● Machined Aluminum Prop Washer
● Locking Prop Nut with Nylon Insert

Performance Graph Instructions

This downloadable PDF file shows the step by step process to use for interpreting the data shown in the Motor Performance Graphs. By following this procedure, you can determine how to select a proper motor for a Multirotor aircraft, as well as calculate required power levels, determine overall prop efficiency and calculate expected flight times based on the battery size that is used. This document can be printed out and saved as a valuable reference tool to keep in your workshop for future use as well.

Hi there -
I absolutely LOVE these motors that I ordered from you but had a question about recommended ESC's to use with them.

I've now toasted 5 of my KISS18a's with these motors and would love to know what other ESCs have the responsiveness and control the KISS's do - but less likely to catch fire and ruin my day!

Thanks so much

Can you please confirm what size of bearings these motors use? and also how many bearings are in each motor? Thanks.

  1. One of them gets really hot!

by Alejandro on Aug 16, 2015

Have the same issue Rex describes, after 1 minute or so of hovering motor gets really really hot, you can't barely touch it. Have tried different ESCs and the same issue. I'm worried about burning the motor... Is this any bad batch issue?
  2. Not sure yet?

by Rex on Aug 9, 2015

Ordered 4 of the Cobra 2206 Race Edition motors for a new quad I'm building. Supplied screws are too short unless your using a super thin framed quad. Bought new screws and got them installed. One of the motors is getting really hot in only 2 minutes of hovering so not sure what's going on there. Trying to buy a new one but of course they are now sold out. Will update review once I get the quad up in the air.
