RC Plane Tracker and Inactivity Alarm
RC Plane Tracker and Inactivity Alarm
If you have ever had a plane go down away from the flying field in the tall weeds, you know how difficult it can be to find it. The RC Plane Tracker provides a loud, audible alarm signal, making it easy to locate and recover a downed aircraft. This device only weighs 5.2 grams (0.18 ounces) so it can be used on any size aircraft. It is also extremely easy to use, you simply plug it into any unused channel on your radio receiver and you are done! If you are using all the channels on your receiver, the RC Plane Tracker also has a pass-through connection, so you can use it like a servo extension between the radio and any servo.
When you power up your model, the RC Plane Tracker will emit a single beep to let you know it is working. As long as the device sees a control signal pulse coming from the receiver, it remains quiet. If the control signal is lost, it begins a 100 second countdown. After 100 seconds, if there is still no control signal, the device will beep once every 15 seconds until power is shut off. After your plane goes down, simply shut off the transmitter, and the 100 second timer will start. The sound of the beeps will then guide you to the aircraft so it can be found. In addition to the Plane Finder features, it also works as an alarm to let you know if you shut off your transmitter, but forget to power down your airplane after a flight.
